Beck, Jared. Position: Director/Founder
Hello everyone! My name is Jared Beck and I have been the Director of CPA since God first planted a vision to start the school back in 2009. It is so amazing to see all that God had planned from that initial vision come to fruition! I look forward to seeing CPA continue to bless students, families, and communities across the world as it has for the past decade.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children in our town of San Marcos, CA. On the weekends and holidays we often camp and go on road trips to all the beautiful beaches and mountains here in California. I have been playing guitar, piano, and singing for most of my life and it’s something I love to do. I am also a little bit of a gardening fanatic; I have a green house and hundreds of varieties of plants on my property. For fitness I enjoy surfing, hiking, running, and training in the Israeli martial art known as Krav Maga. I also love to travel!
For several years I have had the privilege of serving as a board member for a 120 year-old Jewish Christian organization known as the American European Bethel Mission.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, right down to help with your individual homework.

Beck, Kimberly. Position: School Advancement Strategist
Hello! My name is Kimberly Beck and I am the School Advancement Strategist here at CPA since April 2020. I am responsible for school fundraising, communications, marketing and promotion, as well as developing our amazing school community in conjunction with our Parent Ambassador Committee (PAC) and our teachers and administration. My favorite thing in the world is getting our students more connected with each other – whether that is in person or virtually!
Prior to my position here at CPA, I worked as a paralegal in San Diego County for the past 16+ years. I was blessed to have been a part of the school’s founding back in 2009, and I have served as a board member since that time as well. It has been amazing to watch God grow the school from one student in 2009 to over 300 in 2020!
As you can see, I share the same last name with the director. 🙂 Mr. Beck and I met on the small island of Molokai, Hawaii in 1998, and have been married now for over 20 years. We have two beautiful children that keep us very busy. We are a homeschooling family and have been for the past 7 years or so. In my free time, I love opening our home to spend quality time with family and friends, and to get to know new people that God brings our way. I also love to travel with our family, whether that’s a short road trip or around the world.
If you are a parent or a student and want to get more involved in our school community outside of classes, please get in touch with me! I’m excited to get you connected!

Fergus, Cris. Position: Assistant Principal (Retired Summer 2021)
Prior to CPA, I was a public school administrator in Poway Unified School District, Huntington Beach Union High School District, and Riverside Unified School District as well as a middle school and high school teacher in the public and private setting.
My husband and I have raised three adopted children, all of whom graduated from the University of San Diego and are currently pursuing or have received graduate degrees in medicine, epidemiology, business, or cell and molecular biology.
When my children went off to college, I realized I needed another project, so for the last several years, I have been teaching a small core workout group of seven women who enjoy exercising their mind through bible study and their body through physical fitness. This one and one half hour daily routine has done wonders for my spiritual well-being. As an avid reader, cook and a lover of fine art, I volunteer at the local Art and Cultural Center once a month. This year at Calvary Preparatory Academy I am looking forward to meeting all of the new families. If you have questions regarding Career or College Counseling, do not hesitate to contact me. I will be happy to assist you.

White, Laury. Position: Teacher
My name is Laury White and I am a happy wife and mom of three adult children and two grandbaby girls! We all live in Fallbrook, California and attend North Coast Church. We homeschooled our three children up until high school and our youngest attended Calvary Preparatory Academy for his high school years. Boy, do we wish all three of the kids had had that opportunity! Prior to raising my family, I attended California State University – Long Beach where I earned my secondary teaching credential in 1992. Ever since then I have been teaching and, have to say, it is still what I want to do when I grow up. Eighteen of those years of teaching experience were in public school, and the rest were in private online education, co-op schooling, homeschooling, and medical home instruction. Working with youth is truly my passion, both in the classroom and through a discipleship role, and I have never tired of the ministry or the work. I am always looking for new activities to get students involved both on campus and off. I can be found all around our virtual online campus starting something up for the students. I am the advisor for the Student Leadership Team, the Yearbook Class, and the Student Newsletter Team. You can also find me in the Daily Discussion Forum posting the devotions for the day. I actively participate in curriculum revisions, school meetings, projects, and fundraisers. Calvary Preparatory Academy has been the perfect place for me to bring all my experience and passions to the table. I am all in!
Laury White graduated with a teaching credential from Long Beach State University. She taught for 10 years in public high school and then spent 11 years homeschooling her 3 children. She has been with Calvary Preparatory Academy for 4 1/2 years and has also worked with pregnant and parenting teens for six years as a home instructor for the Escondido Public School District. She is passionate about serving families and raising her own family. This is what she spends all her time doing.
