Use Your Education Savings Account at Calvary Prep Academy
Calvary Preparatory Academy is an approved ESA provider in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming. More states will be added this year. If your family participates in an Education Savings Account (ESA) program, you may be able to use those funds to cover tuition at CPA — with no out-of-pocket cost. We’re proud to make a Christ-centered, WASC-accredited education accessible to more families through these programs.
ESA program details change from year to year. The information below reflects our understanding as of July 2026 — please confirm current eligibility, award amounts, and deadlines directly with the Alabama Department of Revenue before making enrollment decisions.
What Is an ESA?
An Education Savings Account (ESA) is a state-funded account that gives families the freedom to direct their child’s education dollars toward the school or program that best fits their needs — including accredited private and online schools like Calvary Prep Academy. ESA funds can typically be used for tuition, enrollment fees, and qualifying educational expenses. Each state program has its own eligibility requirements and account amounts.
Arizona — Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA)
Arizona’s ESA program is one of the most expansive in the nation — open to all K–12 students regardless of income, location, or prior school enrollment. Calvary Prep Academy is an approved provider, and payments are processed through ClassWallet. Any Arizona K–12 resident eligible to attend public school may apply — no income limit, no application deadline, rolling applications accepted year-round. Scholarship amount: approximately $7,000–$8,000 per student for 2026–27, funded at 90% of the state’s per-pupil base allocation. Students with an IEP, 504 plan, or documented disability may receive significantly more.
- Program administered by: Arizona Department of Education
- Payment platform: ClassWallet
- Eligible grades at CPA: 6–12 (Grades 6–8 Middle School, Grades 9–12 High School)
- Award priority: Applications are accepted on a rolling basis; the quarter in which your contract is signed determines when funding begins, so applying earlier captures more of the annual award.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my ESA funds to cover the enrollment fee?
ESA funds can typically be used for tuition and qualifying educational expenses. The enrollment fee ($175 for full-time, $50 for part-time) may or may not be covered depending on your state’s program guidelines. Contact your ESA program administrator to confirm.
What if my state isn’t Arizona?
Calvary Prep Academy is also an approved ESA provider in Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Wyoming. If your state isn’t one of these six, contact us — we may be in the process of getting approved, or we can help you explore other payment options including our scholarship programs.
Do I need to re-apply each school year?
Arizona ESA contracts are typically renewed annually. Check the ESA portal for renewal requirements and deadlines. CPA will work with you each year to provide the documentation needed for your ClassWallet payments.
Can I use ESA funds for part-time enrollment or a single course?
Yes — CPA offers both full-time and single-course enrollment. Confirm with the Arizona Department of Education whether your ESA funds can be applied to partial enrollment.
Who decides if I qualify and how much I receive?
Eligibility, award amounts, and funding timing are determined entirely by the Arizona Department of Education — not by Calvary Prep Academy. We’re happy to help with the enrollment side, but questions about your specific eligibility, award amount, or account status should go directly to the Arizona Department of Education through the ESA portal at azed.gov/esa.
Please Note: ESA program rules, eligibility requirements, award amounts, and application timelines are set and administered by the Arizona Department of Education, not by Calvary Preparatory Academy.
