Use Your Education Savings Account at Calvary Prep Academy
Calvary Preparatory Academy is an approved ESA provider in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming. More states will be added this year. If your family participates in an Education Savings Account (ESA) program, you may be able to use those funds to cover tuition at CPA — with no out-of-pocket cost. We’re proud to make a Christ-centered, WASC-accredited education accessible to more families through these programs.
ESA program details change from year to year. The information below reflects our understanding as of July 2026 — please confirm current eligibility, award amounts, and deadlines directly with the West Virginia Hope Scholarship Board before making enrollment decisions.
What Is an ESA?
An Education Savings Account (ESA) is a state-funded account that gives families the freedom to direct their child’s education dollars toward the school or program that best fits their needs — including accredited private and online schools like Calvary Prep Academy. ESA funds can typically be used for tuition, enrollment fees, and qualifying educational expenses. Each state program has its own eligibility requirements and account amounts.
West Virginia — Hope Scholarship
West Virginia’s Hope Scholarship is open to all K–12 students statewide for the first time starting with the 2026–27 school year — including students previously enrolled in private school or homeschool, with no prior public-school attendance required. Calvary Preparatory Academy is an approved provider, and payments are processed through the Hope Scholarship portal using TheoPay. Scholarship amount: $5,435.62 per student for 2026–27. Timing matters: applications received by June 15 receive the full award amount; applications received June 16 through September 15 receive a reduced amount (75%). Applications are accepted year-round, but the sooner you apply, the more funding your student receives for that year.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my ESA funds to cover the enrollment fee?
Hope Scholarship funds can typically be used for tuition and qualifying educational expenses. The enrollment fee ($175 for full-time, $50 for part-time) may or may not be covered depending on program guidelines. Contact the Hope Scholarship Board to confirm.
What if my state isn’t West Virginia?
We are actively pursuing ESA provider approval in additional states. If your state isn’t listed, contact us — we may be in the process of getting approved, or we can help you explore other payment options including our scholarship programs.
Do I need to re-apply each school year?
Yes — existing Hope Scholarship students must complete a continued-participation confirmation each year, typically between January and June. Check hopescholarshipwv.gov for current dates. CPA will work with you each year to provide the documentation needed for your payments.
Can I use ESA funds for part-time enrollment or a single course?
Yes — CPA offers both full-time and single-course enrollment. Confirm with the Hope Scholarship Board whether funds can be applied to partial enrollment.
Who decides if I qualify and how much I receive?
Eligibility, award amount, and funding timing are determined entirely by the West Virginia Hope Scholarship Board — not by Calvary Prep Academy. Because your award amount depends on when your application is approved, timing is especially important here. We’re happy to help with the enrollment side, but questions about your specific eligibility, application status, or award should go directly to the Hope Scholarship Board through the portal at hopescholarshipwv.gov.
Please Note: ESA program rules, eligibility requirements, award amounts, and application deadlines — including the funding-percentage cutoff dates — are set and administered by the West Virginia Hope Scholarship Board, not by Calvary Preparatory Academy. Program details are subject to change at any time by the state. The information on this page is provided for general reference only and reflects our understanding as of the date below — it is not a guarantee of eligibility, award amount, or funding timeline. Before making any enrollment or financial decisions, please confirm current eligibility requirements, deadlines, and award details directly with the West Virginia Hope Scholarship Board at hopescholarshipwv.gov. CPA is not able to confirm your eligibility or award status on the state’s behalf.
