Use Your Education Savings Account at Calvary Prep Academy
Calvary Preparatory Academy is an approved ESA provider in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Tennessee, West Virginia and Wyoming. More states will be added this year. If your family participates in an Education Savings Account (ESA) program, you may be able to use those funds to cover tuition at CPA — with no out-of-pocket cost. We’re proud to make a Christ-centered, WASC-accredited education accessible to more families through these programs.
What Is an ESA?
An Education Savings Account (ESA) is a state-funded account that gives families the freedom to direct their child’s education dollars toward the school or program that best fits their needs — including accredited private and online schools like Calvary Prep Academy. ESA funds can typically be used for tuition, enrollment fees, and qualifying educational expenses. Each state program has its own eligibility requirements and account amounts.
ESA program details change from year to year. The information below reflects our understanding as of July 2026 — please confirm current eligibility, award amounts, and deadlines directly with the Wyoming Department of Education before making enrollment decisions.
Wyoming — Steamboat Legacy Scholarship (ESA)
Wyoming’s Steamboat Legacy Scholarship gives eligible K–12 students (age 4 through grade 12) a flat $7,000 ESA award, with no income limit for most applicants. Calvary Prep Academy is an approved provider, with payments processed through the Odyssey platform. The program is funded through a capped state appropriation rather than an open-ended per-pupil formula, so an award is not guaranteed simply because a student is eligible — funding is limited and may not cover every applicant if demand is high. The application window for the 2026–27 school year opens July 6, 2026; returning families’ applications prepopulate from the prior year for confirmation or updates.
Note: This program was previously paused by a court injunction in 2025 during a legal challenge to its constitutionality. The Wyoming Supreme Court has since lifted that injunction and the state is moving forward with the program, but families should confirm current program status directly with the Wyoming Department of Education before relying on it financially.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use my ESA funds to cover the enrollment fee?
ESA funds can typically be used for tuition and qualifying educational expenses. The enrollment fee ($175 for full-time, $50 for part-time) may or may not be covered depending on your state’s program guidelines. Contact your ESA program administrator to confirm.
What if my state isn’t Wyoming?
We are actively pursuing ESA provider approval in additional states. If your state isn’t listed, contact us — we may be in the process of getting approved, or we can help you explore other payment options including our scholarship programs.
Do I need to re-apply each school year?
Yes — families must complete an application each school year. Returning students’ information will prepopulate, but confirmation or updates are still required. Check edu.wyoming.gov/parents/education-savings-accounts for current dates. CPA will work with you each year to provide the documentation needed for your payments.
Can I use ESA funds for part-time enrollment or a single course?
Yes — CPA offers both full-time and single-course enrollment. Confirm with the Wyoming Department of Education whether ESA funds can be applied to partial enrollment.
Who decides if I qualify and how much I receive?
Eligibility, award status, and funding availability are determined entirely by the Wyoming Department of Education — not by Calvary Prep Academy. Because Wyoming’s program has a capped funding pool, eligibility alone does not guarantee an award. We’re happy to help with the enrollment side, but questions about your specific eligibility, application status, or funding should go directly to the Wyoming Department of Education at wde-esa@wyo.gov.
Please Note: ESA program rules, eligibility requirements, award amounts, funding availability, and application deadlines are set and administered by the Wyoming Department of Education, not by Calvary Preparatory Academy. The program’s legal status and funding availability are subject to change at any time, including through ongoing litigation or legislative action. The information on this page is provided for general reference only and reflects our understanding as of the date below — it is not a guarantee of eligibility, award amount, or funding timeline. Before making any enrollment or financial decisions, please confirm current eligibility requirements, deadlines, program status, and award details directly with the Wyoming Department of Education. CPA is not able to confirm your eligibility or award status on the state’s behalf.
